Our Methods
The American Institute of Holistic Theology offers distance
learning to an international community of students. Each student
works closely with an admissions advisor to decide upon a course
of study and, once decided, to progress at a pace of his/her own choosing.
Students may work from their homes or whatever environment is conducive
to progress.
Our coursework is deliberately intended to focus both on the
student’s individual spiritual growth as well as on the field of ministry
in which that student will serve. Therefore, students are encouraged to
follow their own learning path by choosing courses that match their individual
transformative desires. Simultaneously, students are encouraged
to pursue course work that will enable and empower them to serve in the
ministry or service of their choice.
Our coursework is intended to encourage each student’s independent
study. Therefore, students will be challenged with both written and experiential
assignments. We want our students to explore both their interior
and their exterior worlds. Though we grade them on tests, we do not tell
them what to expect from their experiences and experiments. Rather we
encourage openness and independent thinking. Throughout each of the
programs the student will be aided in developing an independent approach
to interfaith practice and ministry.
