The Soul of Therapy
21 NBCC Approved Contact Hours
Most of us who practice therapy know that any real and lasting change, which occurs as a result of therapy, has much more to do with a deep internal shift in the interlocking planes of the psyche, than it does with mere behavior. But how does the therapist access that level of the psyche? In order to do that, we have to assist our clients in accessing their own authenticity, as well as the identifications that present as barriers to authenticity.
This Continuing Education Program, provided as a Home Study, offers the therapist a practical, experiential model for assisting the client in finding and beginning to live out of the Authentic Self. Through this study, the therapist will learn to define the Authentic Self as the primary healing agent of the therapy endeavor. By walking through the actual experiential exercises, the therapist will gain his/her own practical experience in the process of accessing, learning to depend upon and beginning to live out of the Authentic Self. Doing the work, allows the therapist to then be able to facilitate the work of his/her clients. Further, the text is a self-help book that your clients may use in therapy as homework. Understanding the concepts of the book and the dynamics of finding and living the Authentic Self will assist you, as the therapist, in assisting your client in his/her own journey.
