Transpersonal Psychology
The comprehensive
view of human nature. The study of experiences, beliefs and practices that suggest
that the sense of self can extend beyond our personal or individual reality.

relative to the practical work of Transpersonal Psychology, but will raise the

Stanislov Grof, Ken Wilbur and Andrew Cohen, the leading thinkers in this relatively
new approach to psychology, an approach that both Grof and Wilbur think offers
a future to psychology itself. Grof teaches specific correlatives between the
prenatal experience and problematic behavior patterns, as a kind of architecture
of emotional and psychosomatic disorders. He also informs as to the different
types of spiritual emergency and offers treatment paradigms in the specific. In
the general, he offers a transpersonal paradigm of the global crises of the ages.
Wilbur offers an integrative psychology that combines all of the various treatment
strategies into one effort, while offering the holistic paradigm of consciousness
as the ultimate healing. Cohen offers insights on the paradigm of change consciousness
itself.
