Student Support
What You Will Receive
All students will receive the first phase of their
program. There are typically 5 to 6 courses in each phase.
In order for you to receive the second phase of
your program, you must fill out and submit the "Request
for Next Shipment Form".
If you are financing your program, your account must be current
or your request will be denied.
If you enrolled in your program with "Advanced Standing"
and have pre-requisites, you will receive the pre-requisites before
you will receive your base program. If you have any questions, please
contact your Admissions Advisor.
You will also receive a letter shortly after your
enrollment identifying your Faculty Advisor. The letter will also
contain your official Student Identification Card. If you do not
receive a Student Identification Card, please contact the Registrar's
Office. Students enrolled in a single certificate course will not
receive a Student ID card.
Student Classifications
In a traditional college, you would be ranked as
freshman, sophomore, junior or senior depending on your educational
progress. These class rankings do not apply to our students. The
flexibility of this approach allows you to work at your own pace,
even taking courses out of sequence when necessary. Instead of being
classified as freshman, sophomore, etc, we will refer to your status
based on the program you are enrolled in. We can serve you better
if you will let us know the name of your program, such as Naturology
or Metaphysics, whenever you communicate with us. Again, always
include your name and student identification number on all correspondence
with us.
How Your Program Works
AIHT is dedicated to providing the most current curriculum
available. For this reason, all programs are divided into two or
more phases. As you complete each phase, you will request approval
from our Accounting Department to order your next phase. See When
You are Ready for Your Next Phase for additional information.
The Study Guide
Use the required study guide and corresponding textbooks
to fulfill the academic requirements for each course. We recommend
completing the courses in order; however, that is not mandatory
and you may complete them in any order.
When You Are Ready for the
Next Phase
- Fax or mail the Request for Next
Shipment form to us.
- You must be current with your tuition payment schedule
- All required transcripts must be on file with AIHT
- Include your full name, your seven-digit student ID number,
the address you want the material shipped to and which portion
of your program you are requesting. For example, if you are currently
finishing up the first shipment of your Bachelor of Science material,
you would request the second portion of your Bachelor of Science
material.
How To Get Help
You worked with your admissions advisor prior to
enrollment. Now you have been assigned a faculty advisor who will
assist you throughout your program and will also be your contact
person should any questions or problems arise. For questions concerning
assignments, always include the course name, number and what version
of the exam you have (if any). The version should be listed in the
bottom right corner of the exam. Example BME107_0505 means this
version was created in May of 2005.
Both our Admissions Department
and Academic Department are open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Central Standard Time [CST]. All admissions and faculty advisors
have personal voice mailboxes where you may leave a message if
you are unable to reach them directly. As with any contact, be
sure to include your full name, student ID number and a specific
message with an available phone number to contact you at.

Concerning Legalities
You, not the school, are responsible for determining
the legal issues involved in conducting a natural health practice.
The laws differ in each state or locality, and our policy is to
not offer detailed legal information.
We recommend that you contact
your state or local government for legal interpretations, conduct
Internet research or visit your public library, as it is important
for you to know what can and cannot be done in the state where
you live.
Transfer Credit
All transfers are evaluated when you enroll.
All transcripts verifying the transfer courses and advanced
enrollment status must be received within six weeks of the enrollment
date. No additional transfers will be allowed after you have

Occasionally, course materials go on back
order due to curriculum revisions or publisher delays. If you place

to contact the school to request it.

Additional Reference
Material
You will probably find it helpful to purchase
some additional reference materials. You may also find these materials
at your local library. Some items we suggest are:
- A dictionary — Webster's
New Collegiate Dictionary which is published by Merriam
Webster is good for general purposes. Some dictionaries
include medical terminology;
- A thesaurus; and
- The MLA Handbook — The
Modern Language Association Handbook will help you in writing your dissertation
or internship project. You can find it in the reference section
of larger bookstores or in your public library. It is the standard
style manual used by most colleges and universities.
A medical dictionary for Naturology students.
Some of our coursework draws upon classic texts that were written
many years ago. The medical terminologies found in some of the books
in your program are unlikely to be seen in up-to-date medical dictionaries,
so an older one will be helpful if you can find one. You may also
be able to find one at a used bookstore or in the reference section
of your library.
All information contained in this online
handbook is subject to change without prior notice and does not
constitute an agreement between American Institute of Holistic Theology
and the student.
