Yozwick Scholarship FAQ's
Do you look at financial status?
Yes we do, but primarily we focus on the student's vision and what they plan to
do with their education.
What should the three letters of
reference be about? Is there a form or format?
The letters of reference can be written by your friends, family or co-workers.
They can be character references or in regards to your work ethic. There
is no form or format that they must be in. It is the applicant's responsibility
to gather all three letters of recommendation and mail these together,
within your application package.
What do you look for in the scholarships?
We look at the student's vision, what they want to do with their education, how
they will use the scholarship and how the scholarship will assist them with their
studies.
When are applications being accepted?
Applications are accepted between November 1st and December 31st.
When do you announce the recipients?
The recipients of the scholarships are announced on February 1st.
How are we notified if we do/don't receive
the scholarship?
The scholarship recipient will be called by the scholarship committee. The applicants
not receiving the scholarship will be notified by a letter of regret.
How long does the essay need to be?
Because part of the academic experience is learning to present one’s position
succinctly, AIHT asks scholarship applicants to organize your thoughts
into an essay of 500 words or lesswhich means a maximum of either
one (1) typed single-spaced page or two (2) typed double-space pages.
Do I have to send official transcripts?
Do I need to resend transcripts if you already have them of file?
The transcripts do not need to be official, you may send copies if official transcripts
are unavailable. You will not need to resend transcripts if they are already in
your student file, but please check with us to make sure any previous transcripts
were indeed received.
Do I have to include this form when applying
for the scholarship?
Yes, you must include this form when submitting your scholarship application.
If you need another copy of the scholarship application form you may contact us
or download it from our website at www.aiht.edu.
What is a “curriculum vitae”?
It is a Latin term that literally means “the course of one's life.”
It is a special type of resume that is traditionally used in the academic community.
A “curriculum vitae” will allow you to go into greater detail than
a resume, as it will allow you to outline teaching and/or research experience,
publications, etc.
