Yozwick Scholarship FAQ's
Do you look at financial status?
Yes we do, but primarily we focus on the student's vision and what they plan to
do with their education.
What should the letters of reference be
about? Is there a form or format?
The letters of reference can be written by your friends, family or co-workers.
They can be character references or in regards to your work ethic. There is no
form or format that they must be in. However, we ask that letters are submitted
on letterhead, if applicable. In any event, sources should include all available
contact information.
What do you look for in the scholarship
entries?
We look at the student's vision, what they want to do with their education, how
they will use the scholarship and how the scholarship will assist them with their
studies.
When are applications being accepted?
Applications are accepted between October 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. Please make
a full copy of entire packet, for your records. AIHT does not return scholarship
application packets.
When do you announce the recipient?
Recipient will be notified by February 2, 2009.
How are we notified if we do/don't receive
the scholarship?
The scholarship recipient will be called by the scholarship committee. The applicants
not receiving the scholarship will be notified in writing.
How long does the essay/letter need to be?
Please summarize, within 300-500 words, your interest in a selected field of study
as well as your present situation and your future plans.
Do I have to send official transcripts?
Do I need to resend transcripts if you already have them on file?
The transcripts do not need to be official, you may send copies if official transcripts
are unavailable. You will not need to resend transcripts if they are already in
your student file, but please check with us to make sure any previous transcripts
were indeed received.
Should the three letters of recommendation
be sent in separately?
No. Please submit all materials together, within your scholarships application
packet.
Do I have to include the scholarship application
form (SAF) when applying for the scholarship?
Yes, you must include a complete SAF when submitting your scholarship application
packet. If you need another copy of the scholarship application form, you may
contact us or download it from our website at www.aiht.edu/yozsch_app.asp.
What is a “curriculum vitae”?
It is a Latin term that literally means “the course of one's life.”
It is a special type of resume that is traditionally used in the academic community.
A “curriculum vitae” will allow you to go into greater detail than
a resume, as it will allow you to outline teaching and/or research experience,
publications, etc.
