AIHT Guidelines for Editorial Submissions

AUDIENCE and DISTRIBUTION:

Vibrations is a quarterly newsletter whose primary audience includes students, alumni and friends of AIHT. Printed materials are also available on request at educational events with which AIHT is affiliated.

SUBMISSIONS and DISCLAIMER

• Our Communications staff reserves the right to accept, reject, or modify any editorial submissions received.
• AIHT does not accept advertising, and we do not pay for editorial submissions. Additionally it is our expectation that all material(s) submitted will represent accurate, original work that is presented in good faith, with no intent to mislead or harm.  

OUR PHILOSOPHY and PURPOSE

• AIHT media resources, online and in print, are offered as educational communications. It is each reader’s sole responsibility to arrive at personal decisions of health, wellness, knowledge and belief that are right for you.
• AIHT accepts articles, artwork and photography that, according to our sole discretion, align with our school’s educational mission.
• Intentionally seeking creative collaboration with our school’s students, graduates, curriculum authors, and other faculty/staff, AIHT recognizes the work of these four affinity groups as our primary reference resources for editorial submissions. To this end, each editorial submission should include a 25-word bio statement from the author, as well as your Web site URL, if applicable.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Submit all articles, artwork and photography by e-mail only. Include each component as a separate electronic attachment, not imbedded within the e-mail message or text area. When e-mailing, please “tag” the subject line as “For Editorial Consideration.”
• High-resolution visuals, of print quality only: 300 dots-per-inch (DPI) or higher; actual image size of 5x7 inches minimum; sent as JPEG or TIF file. Again, please “tag” the subject line as “For Editorial Consideration.”
• Anonymous editorial submissions are not accepted. Please include your full name, Student ID number, and phone number to accompany all items submitted. Additionally, identify any dominant individual(s) that are recognizable in photos or other visual images. Any party submitting a visual image assumes sole responsibility for gaining prior permission from the subject(s) represented. The individual who contributes a visual image to AIHT thereby absolves the school of any liability.
• Word length for newsletter articles and essays: 500 words or less, using Microsoft Word format. For related sidebars: 200 words or less.
• Word length for online articles and essays: up to 2,000 words maximum, using Microsoft Word format. For related sidebars: up to 500 words maximum.
